🇦🇺Vietnam War Stories: Honouring the Heroes We Lost: Roderick James Sprigg of Western Australia
Today we honour Private Roderick James Sprigg of Merredin Western Australia. Roderick worked as a farmhand when he was called up on 27 January 1971. He joined the 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment from 1 Australian Reinforcement Unit on 10 September 1971.
On 21 September 1971 during Operation Ivanhoe in the Phuoc Tuy Province Private Sprigg was fatally wounded during combat. He was 21 years old.
Private Roderick James Sprigg is memorialized on the Clarence Valley Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Grafton New South Wales. Lest We Forget.
