🇺🇲Vietnam War Stories: Honoring the Heroes We Lost: Glen Douglas Bates of New Jersey
Today we honor Lance Corporal Glen Douglas Bates, of Hazlet New Jersey, who served with the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, M Company. Glen was fatally wounded on November 2, 1967 in the Quang Nam province of South Vietnam. He was 19 years old.
A recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medals, Lance Corporal Bates is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 29E, Line 09. Glen lies in rest at Fairview Cemetery in Red Bank, New Jersey. Lest We Forget.
