Today we honor Private First Class George Allen Guy, of Long Beach California, who served with the 3rd Platoon, Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force. George was fatally wounded on August 18, 1969 in the Quang Nam province of South Vietnam. He was 19 years old.
A recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Private First Class Guy is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 19W Line 60. George lies in rest at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens in Long Beach California. Lest We Forget.
