🇺🇲Vietnam War Stories: Honoring the Heroes We Lost: Eric Melvin Dewey of California
Today we honor Private First Class Eric Melvin Dewey, of Bishop California, who served with Company A, 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force. Eric was fatally wounded on July 29, 1967 during Operation Kingfisher near Con Thien in the Quang Tri Province of South Vietnam. Eric was 20 years old.
A recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Private First Class Dewey is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 24E, Line 20. Eric lies in rest at Pioneer Cemetery in Bishop California. Lest We Forget.
