In anticipation of veterans Day we would like to honor Corporal John Ethridge McDonald

Today we honor Corporal John Ethridge McDonald, of Hahira Georgia, who served with the 101st Airborne Division, 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry, C Company. John was fatally wounded on April 15, 1969 in the Thua Thien province of South Vietnam. He was 22 years old.

A recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals, Staff Sergeant Taylor is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 27W, Line 90. John lies in rest at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira, Georgia. Lest We Forget.

Twin brothers Ron (left) and Terry Farrell pictured at Nui Dat in 1969. Ron served with HQ V Force, while Terry was a gunner with 161 Battery. At the time, they were believed to be the first set of New Zealand twins to serve in a war zone at the same time since the Second World War.

Today we honor Fireman Jose Ballentine Campos, of Seguin Texas, served aboard Armored Troop Carrier 151-5 (T-151-5), River Assault Squadron 15, Task Force 117 (TF-117), United States Naval Forces Vietnam. Jose was fatally wounded on January 14, 1969 in the Choung Thien province of South Vietnam. He was 23 years old.

A recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Jose Campos is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 35W, Line 88. Jose lies in rest at San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin Texas. Lest We Forget.
